Five football hopefuls enjoyed their experience at Barcelona’s famed youth training complex.
Five skilful youngsters have had the experience of a lifetime, training at Barcelona’s famous La Masia youth complex and visiting Camp Nou, thanks to sports hydration company Gatorade.
The group – Eduardo Lorenzi Debrito, Kelsey Waller, Mateusz Kaczmarek, Mohammad Heydarpour and Peter Touros – were chosen from thousands of contest entrants who submitted videos of themselves performing unique acts with a football.
Their reward was a trip around the world to visit some of the sport’s greatest institutions, including the home of the Catalan giants.
After being put through their paces at La Masia the five were given a guided tour of Camp Nou stadium, the home of superstars such as Lionel Messi, Neymar and Andres Iniesta. They were also given a glimpse of the club’s extensive trophy room.
“You give this club so much more respect now that you see all of this,” said Peter as he looked on in awe at the array of silverware the club has collected over the years.
But there was more to come. Upon stepping out onto the Camp Nou turf in front of a small crowd of spectators, the youngsters were presented with their own personalised Barcelona shirts.
“I’m speechless!” said Eduardo as he inspected his souvenir shirt. Peter added: “When we walked out of the tunnel and saw our jerseys, it was the most excited I have been on this whole trip.”
Their visit was made complete by the opportunity for a group photograph lifting a replica of the Champions League trophy that the Blaugrana won in 2011.(goal.com)
