After loosing Alvaro Morata to a hamstring injury in the home defeat to Manchester City, the Premier League Champions have now lost N'golo Kante on International Duty to the same hamstring injury.
In their successful run to the premier league title in the 2016/17 season, Chelsea only had the Premier League as the most important league to fight for week in and out as they had not qualified for a Champions League spot in the previous season.
Now with Manager Antonio Conte putting all his trust on the starting XI, this only means that the same players are going to play twice a week with less rotation as they fight to defend their title and have a good run in their Champions League.
The troubles that comes with maintaining the same starting XI will show late into the end of the first leg of the season, when players will have accumulated too many number of games leading to muscle injuries and fatigue.

Chelsea can learn a thing or two from Leicester, who - after qualifying for the Champions League in their title winning season, tried to maintain the same starting 11 in both this huge competitions - which did not work out as they lost a lot of players to injury and in the end had to fight to stay in the premier league.
Conte has to build a lot of trust on his fringe players going into the 2nd part of the season to ensure that at least they - Chelsea - have something to say when it comes to who is to win the League.
Without experimenting on the other buys and the young stars at the club, then it is fair to say that their injury problems are just the start of what is to come.
